Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong’s comprehensive US 150 million renovation has now reached completion. Since its nine month closure from late December 2006, the property has been completely restored, redesigned and revitalised and reopened its doors as Hong Kong’s legendary luxury hotel on 28 September 2006. A significant component of the renovation has focused on the hotel’s 502 guestrooms and suites, all of which are individually furnished and decorated in exquisite materials and handcrafted finishes, and feature the very latest guest-orientated technology.

Lage

Für kulinarische Genüsse sorgen seit Abschluß der Renovierung die zehn Restaurants und Lounges des Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong wie beispielsweise: Pierre - This sumptuous new restaurant on the top floor serves the stunning 3-star Michelin cuisine of Pierre Gagnaire. This haven of contemporary luxury — a symphony of charcoals, burnt cherry, midnight blues and black coffee highlighted with silver and crystal has exceptional views over Victoria harbour. The menu will change with the seasons while a private dining room offers the ultimate in exclusivity. The Mandarin Grill + Bar: Sir Terence Conran oversaw the refurbishment of this much-loved Hong Kong dining delight, blending contemporary designs with the club-like traditions of its past. The formerly hidden windows have been reopened, revealing views of Statue Square and Chater Garden, whilst the familiar Gerard D’Henderson murals and comfortable Pullman chairs have returned. In addition a new Crustacea bar has been created, where diners look forward to day boat sashimi specialities and a selection of the world’s finest oysters. Man Wah: The décor of the hotel’s namesake restaurant pays homage to its illustrious past, with a mixture of rich local rosewood emboldened by Shanghai pink table décor. Regarded as the finest Chinese dining room in the city, it offers a blend of traditional cooking techniques and flavours with occasional touches of modern flair. M bar: Perched on top of the hotel, with stunning harbour and city views, the stylish M bar has quickly established itself as the city’s newest destination for discerning local residents and hotel guests alike. With interiors of charcoal velvet and silver leaf, complemented by glass and lacquered walls, the focal point is the sensuous lotus bud-shaped bar flanked by high bar stools. Enticing Cantonese tapas from Man Wah is served alongside champagnes and speciality cocktails created by renowned mixologist, Angus Winchester.
